Carla's Favorite Things
Is it nerdy that I have favorites in the following categories?: - Branches of government - Systems in the human body - Accounting processes - Musical chords - Music recording effects It may be, I don’t know. But, here are the answers:
- The Judicial Branch - The Skeletal System - Double-entry book keeping, and balance sheet and income statement preparation - A minor and E major - Reverb and...
Update from Boston, TX
Inside joke. :)
Alrighty, so I’ve been camping out in my apartment living room while working on getting a bed and Internet.
Both are on their way. :)
Now, random things. Well, one random thing:
I made my first 911 call, and it may have been to report a suicide I was unaware of..
I forget what day this was, really, but I was on my way out to go to some shopping. I was in my vehicle,...
365 Photo Set Updated! →
I’ve been lagging on uploading, but the photos are still being shot. I can’t process and blog on a daily basis for the time being, but the little photo blurbs are still there with each photo. :)
I Guess I Ought to Share
So, today I’ve accomplished some things I didn’t really think I could get done so quickly.
I..
- Bought my first vehicle (HUGE THANKS to Amanda, who helped with the negotiating and getting me to the car lot). - Bought auto insurance for CHEAP. - Drove on the freeway for the first time - and by myself - in TEXAS.
Tomorrow, I pay up the 6 months of my first apartment and then go ahead...
I've caught up on my 365 photos. :) →
New uploads for my 365 photo-a-day project. Check ‘em out!
Sigh
Listening to music before I go to sleep is comforting to me, but at the same time it’s driving me crazy.
I need my guitars and am getting slightly nervous without even my bass here.
I need to get my apartment and vehicle fast so I can go to Guitar Center and bring a friend to keep me company.
I was thinking of getting a cheap Squier, but I think I might just go ahead and get the Fender...

Airblog: From San Jose to Dallas
Written yesterday on the plane:
Okay, Airblog!
I got totally excited ‘cause someone said over the plane PA thing that this flight had Internet.
It does, but I need to buy a pass and the cheapest one is like ten bucks.
And I just wanted to finish uploading photos to flickr.
I decided my Internet addiction could wait for a few hours, so now I’m blogging on the Mac equivalent of...

The clock’s a tickin’ and I’m not really antsy.
Today, I still had trouble keeping the contents of my checked baggage at bay, so I’ll be working on making it all fit tomorrow, as well.
Arrghhh..
I’m hoping for the best.

I’m having difficult with my checked baggage.
I thought my military duffel bag would fit more, but it doesn’t, as evidence by the near fullness photographed for yesterday’s 365 shot (above).
I took out half the t-shirts I had in there and still not enough room for my frikkin bath towel and my thin Batman blanket.
WTF.

After many years of not going, I finally went back to Downtown San Jose’s Christmas in the Park!
One of the parks downtown is converted into a winter wonderland where community groups decorate their own trees and where the animatronic-type Christmas displays take over.
They’re creepy, they’re corny, and they’re fucking awesome! Things like these make me forget about the...

Yeah, that ticket was fucking expensive. Pair that up with a really expensive soda, too.
I’m still debating whether the price was worth the 2 minutes of Carlisle Cullen/Peter Facinelli screen time.

Today was another crappy and stressful day.
Thankfully, some things were worked out and I also got to finish up packing the last of the boxes to ship.
And I shipped ‘em, to boot!
I also hung out with Leny for a bit. Sadly, a good chunk of time was spent in line at the post office. :\ After that, we checked out Michael’s and pigged out at In-N-Out Burger.
The photo above is of the...

Today sucked ass. My parents wasted my day, because only they have such a “gift.”
And people need to start taking better care of themselves and stop trying to talk to me about my moving.
It’s nobody’s business but mine.
What a fucking shit day.

I’ve started working on packing up my checked baggage. I’m gonna be using a large military duffel bag, which will not only carry my clothes, but my camera tripod, as well. If I have some room, I will be squeezing in my hockey skates. :)
What’s kind of strange it that I’m using my clothes as padding for my tripod, which apparently has become the first priority in there....

On August 19th, I began a project which I believe will take me up to a year to complete.
That project is to do a 30-page drawing, filling up the Moleskine Japanese Album notebook.
Said notebook comes with one huge accordion-folded sheet, that folds into 60 pages: 30 in the front and 30 in the back.
The notebook size is only about 5” x 3.5” but for someone who draws small like I...

I’m packing up more stuff and nearing my take-off date, Sunday, December 13th.
From what I’m hearing from my mom, my dad wants to talk to me to convince me to stay.
Fat chance. Over half of my stuff is shipped off to friends’ places and I’ve already bought my ticket.
There’s no turning back!
Aside from that, I’m also trying to figure out what to take with...

Went out with my friend Leny today and we hit up some malls.
Personally, I hate the fucking mall. And not just because of the swarms of materialistic pricks and the fact that these hell holes are capitalist meccas.
It’s also because I used to work at a couple, and the people are dumbasses.
Anyway, we stopped by Eastridge so I could ship some boxes off, and on our way out we saw the...

I need to find a place to live and am currently compiling a list.
Here’s the problem: I’m soooo lazy this week.
Well, Carla, SUCK IT UP!

Dad turned 51 yesterday, and for months he’s been bugging me about going with him and my mom on their monthly casino trips.
My answer is always NO.
So, since it was his birthday yesterday, I agreed, and we headed to Red Hawk Casino. On the way over, we stopped for gas, and In-N-Out Burger.
I think that was the best part.
Once at the casino, we headed to the kids’ floor, then my...
